This beachside dwelling suffered considerable damage in the Christchurch earthquakes, particularly to its heavyweight brick cladding.
The Inovo team assessed the three-level property, measuring and preparing floor plans and determining the structural and cosmetic damage. This information was presented to the homeowner in a comprehensive Scope Report, before a reinstatement budget was prepared. This included asbestos testing, CCTV work, roofing reports and engineering requirements.
The homeowner accepted the proposed reinstatement methodology prepared by Inovo and agreed to a managed reinstatement process, where Inovo led the project through to completion on their behalf, including the Christchurch City Council consent application and a procurement process to select a contractor to complete the works.
Construction commenced in 2017. Remedial works for the property included;
Removal and replacement of the heavyweight brick cladding
Significant replacement of the internal GIB linings including a new bracing plan to return the property to pre-quake strength
Foundation re-levelling
Removal and replacement of the standalone garage
Total internal cosmetic repair
The successful outcome not only resolved the earthquake damage but benefited the dwelling with significant structural and cosmetic upgrades.
