This role will see you utilising and expanding your client relationship networks to establish Inovo Land Development Services capabilities in the Auckland region. As a key leadership position within the company, you will be working alongside our senior leadership and management teams and supported by our highly experienced team of Surveyors, Engineers, Planners and Project Managers to build a business unit around your role. The role involves business development, client-facing activities, strategic planning, growing a team and expanding the work pipeline. As such, you should possess strong inter-personal and leadership skills.

You will have:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ end-to-end land development experience in the Auckland region
  • Proven track record of developing new business opportunities and cultivating relationships with potential clients
  • A strong understanding of the Auckland market and the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • An established network of connections in local government and the private sector
  • Solid commercial, project management and business development experience
  • University degree in Surveying, Civil, Environmental, Natural Resources Engineering or similar
  • Proven management and leadership skills and a collegial, team-player attitude
  • An understanding of the legislative frameworks we operate in, including the Resource Management Act and associated regulations.
  • Creative thinking to develop innovative solutions and provide high quality advice for our clients.

You will manage and work together with the wider Inovo team to deliver infrastructure projects, subdivisions, multi-unit and comprehensive developments ranging from two to 1000 lots plus. Oversee all project stages from Concept to Detailed Design and delivery and supervise and mentor the next generation of civil engineering professionals.

The successful candidates will ideally have:

  • A relevant qualification such as a Bachelor of Engineering or National Diploma in Engineering.
  • Current Chartered member of Engineering New Zealand
  • 6+ years of land development and/or three waters engineering experience in NZ
  • Proficiency with 12D or AutoCAD, EPA net, Stormwater and 2d flood modelling packages and Microsoft office.
  • Ability to provide support/training to Junior Civil Engineers
  • An understanding of the RMA and planning processes
  • Competency with 3910 contract management including Engineer to the Contract.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering and construction specifications, standards and codes
  • Superb mathematical, time management and organizational abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Supervise and mentor the next generation of surveying professionals
  • Join a team of around 50 surveyors, civil engineers, planner and project managers in our modern office in central Christchurch

About you:

  • An experienced Licensed Cadastral Surveyor or Survey Technician
  • Competent with Landonline and 12D software
  • An excellent written and oral communicator
  • Able to work independently and organise work programmes
  • Proficient with field work techniques and quality assurance processes for GPS and Total Station
  • Have an understanding of the RMA, planning processes and other relevant legislation
