Inovo was engaged to undertake a feasibility study on the viability of a new 80 bed student accommodation building, and subsequently to deliver the project.
The completed feasibility report identified that the project would need to provide a minimum of 120 beds to be a viable financial model for the Trust. It also identified a specific construction method used on previous projects that would provide the greatest cost benefit to the project.
Inovo managed the delivery of this project through a turnkey design and construct procurement approach, leading to significant programme and cost savings. The development included car parking facilities and access roading.
The 120-unit four-story building provides 24 self-contained pods of five bedrooms with shared kitchen, lounge, dining and ablutions accessed via a central stair and lift.
Otautahi House received a Gold Award in the Residential category at the 2018 New Zealand Commercial Property Awards.
