The railway level crossing in Newmarket connecting Sarawia Street and Laxon Terrace was the busiest crossing in the country.
To improve safety by moving pedestrians away from the rail line, allow greater frequency of services and increase the efficiency of rail operations, Auckland Transport decided to replace the crossing with a bridge between Laxon Terrace and nearby Cowie Street.
During the early stages of the construction works, Auckland Transport identified significant risks to time and budget and engaged Inovo to provide additional management and planning support and experience to assist the project team to meet their objectives.
