Hamilton Jet have been worldwide leaders in waterjet propulsion technology since 1939.
The company currently operates out of a factory in Lunns Road, Christchurch that has been expanded and renovated multiple times over the last 70 years. It sustained damage in the 2010/2011 seismic events and while repairs had been undertaken, this, combined with growing dissatisfaction with inefficiencies caused by the plant being piece-mealed together over an extended period of time, led Hamilton Jet to purchase a new greenfield site in Hornby with the intention of building a new facility.
Inovo was engaged to assist the Hamilton Jet team with the planning and management of a re-engineering of their manufacturing operations. Their objectives are to improve manufacturing efficiencies, achieve optimum workfow, increase employee health and safety, and future-proof the design of the new factory. The re-engineering enabled Hamilton Jet to derive current requirements for the design of the facility as well as building in flexibility to reconfigure the new facility for future opportunities.
Inovo anticipates further engagement to assist with detailed planning for the construction of the new facility and the relocation of the existing manufacturing processes while sustaining daily operations.
