This Fendalton property was referred to Inovo following an Earthquake Commission review.
Although some repairs had already taken place, seven years on from the Canterbury earthquake sequence this property was re-assessed and deemed to fall into the over-$100,000 damage cap and was therefore passed over to the Insurer.
Inovo visited the site to review the damage, measure and prepare floor plans and determine any structural concerns. This information was collated into a comprehensive Scope Report for presentation to the homeowner. Once the Scope of Works was approved, Inovo prepared a reinstatement budget based on our recommended repair methodology.
It was determined that foundation settlement had occurred, and the property would need to be re-levelled. The unavoidable damage to the interior linings and door frames as a result of the re-levelling would also need to be repaired. Additionally, damage to the roof and other areas of the dwelling had been overlooked previously and these elements were included in the repair works.
The homeowner elected to have Inovo manage the entire remedial process for them, from arranging for design drawings to applying for Consent, selecting a contractor, reviewing the Build Contract, and monitoring the quality of work on site, right through to the final defects inspection.
