acute services building
Inovo is providing construction surveying services for CDHB’s new 62,000m² Acute Services Building, the largest government project in the Cantebury rebuild. Inovo has a full time presence on site, responsible for survey set-out, survey as-built and quality assurance reporting for concrete works, steel erection and services trades.
The new space will incorporate 12 new operating theatres and procedure rooms, an expanded emergency department, state-of-the-art radiology, acute medical assessment, an expanded intensive care unit, two six-level inpatient ward blocks, purpose-designed children’s facilities, a rooftop helipad and support facilities.
The new theatres will allow the Canterbury DHB to perform an additional 6,000 surgeries a year and inpatient ward blocks over six floors will provide approximately 400 beds, including purpose-designed spaces for children.
Bordering the expansive landscape of Hagley Park, the building will occupy land immediately adjacent to the existing hospital buildings. The new facilities, in particular patient bedrooms, feature innovative planning, outstanding views and natural light, all of which contribute to the healing process and well-being of patients.
The project is on track to be completed in 2019.
